Student paid fees fund tuition for SAC, SGA officer
This first article in this series examined the perks of undergraduate administration, including paid tuition, parking and stipends for six full-time students totaling $68,752 and funded by The U of M’s Student Activity Fee, a mandatory charge included in student tuition. In addition we found this was approved by University administration each year.*

The second installment analyzed the budgets of the two organizations even further, finding that student fees paid for expensive pageant memorabilia, the SGA president’s in-state travel and T-shirts for the senate.

Freshman senator still seeking cause of dismissal
A follow-up article spotlighted a dismissal of a freshmen senator quoted in the first story. He was dismissed a day after the articles, and even though SGA student advisors were recorded saying he would be dismissed, they now deny ever saying so.
Lang gets standing ovation for calling DH out
The editor-in-chief wrote an editorial related to the articles after SGA president called The Helmsman out in a Senate meeting, falsely accusing The DH of several things. The editorial shows him that his facts weren't grounded.
